Is having an esthetician really worth it?
Ahhh… the big question, is having an esthetician really worth it? Obviously I am incredibly biased as it is my profession, but my honest answer is yes. Long before I became an esthetician, I saw multiple regularly. I have seen good ones, not so good ones and GREAT ones. Once you see an incredible esthetician, you understand their value. Having an esthetician that knows how to address various skin concerns can really change your skin and how you approach skincare.
What to look for when finding an esthetician? WORD. OF. MOUTH. Ask your friend who sees one if she (or he) likes who they see. What do they like? What makes them keep coming back? Ask your friends with amazing skin/brows who they see, and how they found them. The best esthetician I ever saw was completely from word of mouth. My friends saw her and raved about how amazing she was. Once I got in with her, I was hooked. Your friends and family won’t steer you wrong! Google can be a minefield, and searching blindly can be so intimidating.
Have a consultation! You don’t have to book an appointment with someone right out of the gate. You most definitely can book a consultation with an esthetician and interview them! Ask them what they specialize in, what treatments they offer, what suggestions they would have for you regarding where to start to accomplish your goals, etc. This is also a great way to feel out if you connect with them and if it feels right. A consultation is so helpful because you can usually tell pretty fast how much they know and how passionate they are about their profession. Plus, its a great ice breaker before you do book an appointment and sets expectations that are realistic.
Check to see if they have a social media page. Instagram is a great place to see their work and what they offer. It is also usually a great place to learn more about skincare and treatments they currently offer. If you want to book an appointment, always reach out to them!
I hope this helps!
