Hydration. In the Sierra’s, during winter, we could all use more. If you’re using a hyaluronic acid serum currently, but just feel like it isn’t cutting it anymore. This might be your new best friend.
B5 is an incredible ingredient for the skin. It has an anti-inflammatory effect that can be soothing to the skin. It also helps keep skin hydrated by absorbing moisture from the air. The addition of b5 to a hyaluronic acid serum helps supercharge it and make it extra hydrating on your skin. This product in particular is a great dupe for the Skinceuticals Hydrating b5 Gel (which retails for $86, vs. the ordinary., which retails for $5.77… yes, you read that correctly haha).
How to apply? The most effective way to apply any product with hyaluronic acid is on damp skin. The hyaluronic acid pulls the moisture on the surface of your skin and in the air deeper into the epidermis. If you apply it on dry skin it can almost have a drying effect because it will be pulling moisture already in your skin deeper, drying the surface more. It is counter productive and won’t maximize your results. After you wash your face, pat it with a clean towel until slightly damp, and then apply the serum on top. You can layer it with other serums as well and them apply your regular moisturizer and SPF (during the day). That’s it!
